Project Title Project Edelstein

Every day, 6 Singaporeans are diagnosed with blood diseases and may die without a bone marrow transplant. In a bid to help these patients, Project Edelstein is working with the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP) to raise awareness about blood diseases and garner donors. Edelstein, is the German word for ‘Gemstone’ and represents the rarity in finding a suitable donor for BMDP patients, and is also symbolic of the glimmer of hope that we provide for patients through our project. Throughout the year, Project Edelstein conducts various activities and events like street publicity and donor drives in order to increase the public’s awareness of our project and to recruit donors. This year, we managed to raise more than $20,000 and recruit 350 bone marrow donors through our project.
